Easter Message from the President

Dear Sisters in Christ,
Christ is Risen and may you be blessed in this Eastertide season. What a glorious time of year in so many ways.
This is, indeed, a time of transition for many of us. Let us be reminded that we, as Daughters of the King, are a unique organization of women committed together in evangelism and prayer. As a cross-denominational apolostic eucharistic community, we need to be the light and witness of the Gospel of Christ to all those around us. Let us all be servant leaders and the light of hope.
Much is happening in the Assembly.
First is our Assembly Project. We are supporting three women's facilities: Hopeful Horizons (Beaufort), Magdalene House (Charleston), and Tenacious Grace (Florence). Please make sure your Chapter has committed to serving these communities for a month. Sign-up information is available on our website (doksc.org). Daughters at Large are encouraged to find a chapter nearby OR gather a group in your area to serve together.
Old Saint Andrew's, West Ashley, is having an Admission Service on May 8 at the 11:00 am service. All are welcome.
June 5th is the Master's Fund Ingathering. Donations may be made through your chapter or online at the National website.
Our Triennial gathering in Baltimore is right around the corner, the end of June. The national project this year is Karis House (a shelter for women) Even if you are not planning to attend Triennial you are welcome to participate in this project through monetary donations. Information is available on the national website at doknational.org.
Our Annual Fall Assembly is Saturday, September 17. Our theme for the day is "The Holy Spirit is our power in Hope". We have yet to establish a host site or speaker but we will surely keep you posted and welcome any suggestions.
I pray you all have a blessed Eastertide and know you are in our prayers.
